Several days after the disappearance of students in Nigeria, authorities of the country have announced the release of 137 abducted students from the captivity of kidnappers in the country.
Foreign media, citing Nigerian authorities, report that more than 130 schoolchildren who armed individuals in northwest Nigeria abducted in early March were released on Sunday, March 24th, once again freed from the clutches of abductors.
According to reports, these students were abducted on the seventh of March by armed individuals in the town of Kagara in Kaduna state.
Based on statistics, the abducted individuals include 137 students, out of which 76 were boys, and 61 were girls, all safely released from the kidnappers’ grip.
It is noteworthy that the ages of the abducted students range from eight to fifteen years old.
Meanwhile, bandits routinely raid villages in the country and carry out mass abductions for ransom in Nigeria’s northwest and north-central regions, where, according to the United Nations, violence has displaced about a million people.
In Nigeria, despite efforts to curb such incidents, the security situation remains a significant concern, with abductions and violence continuing to disrupt lives and communities across the country.
